You learn to summarise and compare data properly: displays, measures of centre and spread, and the interpretation language that examiners reward. Arithmetic and geometric sequences introduce the recursion thinking Unit 3 builds on, while financial arithmetic covers percentage change, interest and everyday money maths. Linear functions and modelling complete the foundations.
Investigating and comparing data Sequences Financial arithmetic Linear functions + more
The second half of the toolkit. Matrices cover order, operations and practical applications like cost and connection problems. Graphs and networks introduce vertices, edges, walks and trails, the vocabulary the Unit 4 networks module assumes. Variation, measurement and applied trigonometry round out a unit that rewards careful, systematic working.
Matrices and applications Graphs and networks Variation Measurement and trigonometry + more
The biggest slice of the exam. Data analysis runs from single-variable displays through correlation, least-squares regression, residual analysis and time series smoothing, with the written interpretation questions drilled as hard as the calculations. Recursion and financial modelling then cover recurrence relations, depreciation, reducing-balance loans, annuities and investments, all with the CAS finance solver techniques that save minutes per question.
Univariate and bivariate statistics Regression and time series Recurrence relations Loans and investments + more
Matrices return at full depth: matrix equations, transition matrices and equilibrium states for modelling real systems. Networks covers shortest paths, minimum spanning trees, maximum flow and critical path analysis for project scheduling. Then complete exam preparation: archetype-by-archetype revision, timed full papers, and the CAS speed techniques that make the difference across a 15-question paper.
Transition matrices Network flow and shortest paths Project scheduling Full exam strategy + more
Because the General Maths exam repeats its question archetypes, our revision program is archetype-by-archetype: master each one, then assemble them in full timed papers. CAS speed techniques are drilled for every module so you bank easy marks fast and spend your time where the paper gets tricky.

These are highlights only. Your classes cover every key knowledge point in the current VCAA Further Maths study design, plus the exam skills built on top of it.

FAQ

VCE Further Maths Tutoring FAQs

Completely. It satisfies the maths prerequisite for a wide range of courses and contributes to your ATAR like any other subject. For many students it is their most reliable top-four score.
General Mathematics is the current name under the VCAA study design that replaced Further Mathematics. The content family is the same: data analysis, recursion, matrices and networks.
Faster than any other maths subject. Because the exam is archetype-based, targeted practice converts directly into marks. Students joining mid-year regularly jump a full grade band by their next SAC.
